Conditions We Diagnose and Treat
-
Acne is a common inflammatory condition of the pilosebaceous units, usually of the face, chest, and back. The cause is multifactorial and typically begins at puberty but can last into adulthood. Patients may present with whiteheads, blackheads, pimples, nodules, and cysts. There are various treatment options including prescription topical treatments, oral antibiotics, isotretinoin, chemical peels, and lasers, or a combination of the aforementioned treatments. We can also recommend a skin care routine and products that are tailored to the patient’s specific needs.
-
Atopic dermatitis is an inflammatory skin condition that can cause severe itching and disrupt normal daily life. It can be associated with asthma and allergic rhinitis. It typically affects young children and improves with age, however it can also affect adults. Treatment with medicated creams and diligent skin care is important to control eczema.
-
Moles form from a collection of pigment cells in the skin. They range from pink to tan to brown, can be flat or raised, and vary in size. They can be benign, atypical, or progress to melanoma. Warning signs to watch for include Asymmetry, irregular Border, changing Color, Diameter greater than 6mm, and Evolving appearance.
-
Psoriasis is a chronic skin condition characterized by pink to red, flaky lesions and can affect any part of the body. It can also be associated with arthritis and nail changes. Treatment typically includes topical medications such as corticosteroids and vitamin D creams, Excimer laser, and oral and injectable medications. Our providers can help identify the right treatment course for you.
-
Actinic keratoses (AKs) are precancerous skin cells that have been damaged by the sun. They feel rough and can look red, pink, or scaly. They develop in sun-exposed areas—typically the scalp, face, ears, arms, and hands—and can progress to skin cancer if left untreated. Treatment options include liquid nitrogen cryotherapy, chemotherapy topical creams, chemical peels, and laser treatment. Schedule a skin exam for early detection.

Skin cancer is the most common cancer in the United States, with an estimated 1 in 5 Americans developing it by age 70. About 90% of skin cancers are associated with sun exposure. The three major types are basal cell carcinoma (BCC), squamous cell carcinoma (SCC), and melanoma. Early detection is associated with successful treatment outcomes.
We strongly encourage regular skin exams and screenings, consistent sunscreen use and sun-protective measures, avoiding peak sun hours, and monthly self-checks at home.
